As the year is coming to a close, it's time to start thinking of plan for the next year. For me, this means planning family reunions and getting everything in order.
We need to connect to the root again for strength and guidance. So, if you are in charge or helping organize the reunion, come along with me as we start the planning process and watch your family come together again!
1. Gather communication.Thanksgiving and Christmas would be a great time to get this information. Even if you don't know where it's going to be yet, it's a good idea to get a ballpark number.
2. Keep a notebook of suggestions from the family. It is important to find new, interesting and exciting ways bring out the best family reunions.
3. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If last year was overwhelming or you are thinking about handing over the reins, recruit one of your family members who are willing and able to assist you.
4. Be organized! You'll need to keep files or spreadsheets of budgets, receipts, vendors, contact information and more. Trying to keep this all in your head (no matter how smart you are :) is not a good idea.
5. Get ready to plan and enjoy the next family reunion with the help of African American Family Reunions!
